JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform duties (3-5 hours per week) including, but not limited to, the following:
- Operate and maintain hydro facilities and associated equipment/systems to maximize power generation, maintain water levels and river flows.
- Record and report power plant operational data, including water level, river flow, kW output, etc.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance such as lubrication, fluid checks, electrical and mechanical checks, cleaning, painting, grounds maintenance, river debris removal and controls calibration.
- Document and report any abnormal or changing conditions, including sounds, temperatures, vibrations, leaks and river conditions.
- Perform electrical, mechanical and/or structural systems repairs in a timely fashion.
- Participate in and manage work performed by contractors.
- When on-call, respond to emergency or warning alarms and unusual conditions at any time. Response time shall be not more than 20 minutes to plant for physical support.
- Perform inventory audits, parts ordering and restocking, and report inventory to management.
- Coordinate with other hydropower providers, utilities, and government agencies as needed.
- Continuously enhance training and personal knowledge of facility operations and maintenance.
- Represent Eagle Creek Renewable Energy and the facilities in a professional manner.
- Comply with all safety, security, regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Combination of electrical and mechanical skills, with experience in a commercial / industrial setting is desired. Knowledge and ability to use computer and internet. This position requires good written and oral communication skills, and problem solving skills. Applicants must be reliable, flexible and motivated, able to work independently and possess an outstanding work ethic. Requires experience and demonstrated ability to manage project activities, operations, and facilities efficiently and effectively. Current scuba certification is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position involves performing physical labor including, but not limited to, walking, lifting and climbing in a hydropower facility setting, which includes the outdoor environment of dams and rivers. The successful candidate
must be in good general health, capable of lifting a minimum of 75 Lbs., and comfortable working at heights and in or around waterways. The successful candidate must be a competent swimmer.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $300.00 - $500.00 per month
