Now Hiring: Hydrovac Operator in Hobbs, NM
Tanner Services is a construction and service company with over 40 years of experience. We are currently looking for Hydrovac Operators to join our team in Hobbs, NM. Our Hydrovac Operators drive and operate Tanner Services’ owned specialized on-board hydrovac system, while providing safe, customer-focused services.
This job requires typical construction hours, with some weeks being less than 40 hours and very busy weeks requiring 50+ hours. Travel for short term out of town work assignments and/or training is to be expected. Training will be provided for people with a desire to succeed.
Responsibilities Include:
- Safe operation of on-board hydrovac system.
- Clean-up, mobilization, and general maintenance of equipment.
- Customer service, including professional and effective communication.
- Leading other personnel in performing duties in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Troubleshooting minor mechanical issues and performing minor repairs to equipment.
- Attending mandatory safety meetings and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a safe and professional manner.
- Properly filling out all federal, state, company, and customer paperwork.
Requirements:
- Previous experience operating hydrovac units is required. Applicants without hydrovac experience will not be considered.
- Previous experience operating vacuum trucks or related industrial and trucking experience is preferred.
- OSHA10 safety certification is required. Additional safety certifications are encouraged (eg. First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space).
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening. This includes a criminal background check, MVR history, DOT drug screen and Fit for Duty physical exams to ensure you meet the medical, physical and safety requirements of the position.
Applicants should also be able to:
- Perform labor-intensive work outdoors, in all types of weather conditions and for extended periods of time.
- Work independently as well as with other team members in a safety-focused environment.
- Operate necessary equipment.
- Hear and distinguish emergency signals as well as instructions while on the job.
- Repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
- Repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders and work on stationary platforms at elevated heights.
- Enter confined spaces if required to accomplish tasks.
- Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Work extended hours and variable shifts.
