Job description
GENERAL SUMMARY OF TASKS: Accomplish maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Maintenance Manager
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must bend, stoop, stretch, standing for extended periods, and labor in cramped spaces and at aerial platform heights. May require lifting up to 50 pounds for a whole eight (8) hour shift. Requires normal vision and hearing range. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is conducted in a factory environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpreting engineering blueprints and diagrams
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in medium electrical circuitry, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and the discipline of lock-out/tag-out.
Maintaining and servicing machinery consisting of motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
Determining malfunctions or machine damage. Dismantling machine, removing machine parts, repairs, lubricates, etc., and reassembles machine according to specifications.
Transporting machine parts, tools, equipment and other material between work area and storage, using forklift if necessary.
Crafting parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
Assisting in setting up new machinery and solving production problems.
Overseeing and maintaining good records for the preventative maintenance system and all related tasks.
Carrying out duties in a safe manner with attention and adherence to safety procedures and productivity of all associates.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Post high school training in disciplines listed above (mechanics, plumbing, hydraulics, electricity) required. Previous experience in machine maintenance in a factory environment preferred.
SKILLS/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Forklift operation knowledge preferred.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
Steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required in production areas. Other appropriate PPE, such as gloves, may be required.
You should be proficient in:
- Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
- Machine Safety Inspections
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
