Overview:

The Infectious Disease Physician is a member of an interdisciplinary team of epidemiologists and public health consultants assisting the Healthcare-Associated Infection (HAI) Prevention Program team in reaching its strategic public health goals. The Infectious Disease Physician in this role will work remotely as a 1099 contractor supporting the HAI team when needed.

Essential Functions:

• Provide medical consultation with clinical and administrative staff for the HAI team.
• Prepare or provide medical review for all policies, protocols, and Standards of Care based on established timeframes.
• May participate in meetings and correspondence, including phone calls, emails, and webinars.
• Participate and provide technical assistance to the HAI team through technical assistance to clinicians statewide, both internal and external to the department.
• Collaborate with the HAI team on outbreaks and providing subject matter expertise on epidemiologically significant organisms by participating in conference calls and completing written assignments.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified Medical Doctor (MD)
• Master of Public Health (MPH)
• Experience within Infection Prevention/HAI is preferred
• Demonstrated Experience in Infectious Disease
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
