NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$88,600 - $172,300

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate¿s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like


We are seeking a hardworking Information Systems Engineering Project Manager to join our department. The selected candidate will lead project plans for benchmarks and initiatives within the organization and collaborate with project leads, other FIE Project Managers, managers, and staff to ensure that project plans and schedules are maintained. Join our dynamic team to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Participate in project and FIE ISSM Council meetings to provide project management support and direction
  • Lead Team Integration/Project Lead Meetings by collecting and handling statuses of achievements
  • Lead the FIE system/network repository containing all known systems, and artifacts to include ATO letters, and feed that information into the management assurance content
  • Conduct and prepare monthly Management Assurance meetings and weekly Tiered Accountability meetings
  • Serve as a department liaison/customer relations manager to internal customer base
  • Manage ITSM configurations (ensure all teams are in the tool, and user assignments added to the teams)
  • Manage Service Level Agreement (SLA) process

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will work onsite.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelors in Management Information Systems or relevant technical fields, plus five years of experience; Or Masters in above, plus 1 year
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoE Q- level and SCI Security Clearance that may require a polygraph test

Qualifications We Desire

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Cyber certifications (e.g. CISSP)
  • Possess a strong dedication to positive teaming dynamic, strong written and verbal skills, detail oriented with a keen focus on customer service
  • Active DOE Q or DOD TS security clearance
  • Project On-Boarding process experience

The FIE Cyber Security Operations Department supports the Field Intelligence Element mission by delivering capabilities around information system hardening/accreditation, vulnerability assessment, risk management and forensics with a particular focus on mitigating cyber threats. The Cyber Security staff, consisting of Information Systems Security Managers (ISSMs), Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs), Alternate ISSOs (AISSOs), and Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSEs), provide effective technical solutions for DOE, DOD and the Intelligence Community.

Security Clearance


Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI access, both of which require US citizenship.
