60% Serves as a consultant on overall analysis and planning for information systems at the enterprise level (e.g., Enterprise application platforms .NET Architecture, Cloud platforms like Salesforce, AWS, Azure, Devops, CI/CD Pipeline, Middleware systems like IIS servers, IBM Websphere, Windows and Linux systems, Database systems, Data analytic platforms); provides expert advice and guidance to information systems CIO, assistant administrators and/or administrators and/or technical staff regarding any and all facets of information systems division operations (e.g., configuration management support, production infrastructure support acquisitions, information systems programming, information security, information systems operations and fiscal areas), directly participates in information systems division operations short/long term planning process (develop, update and maintain a technical architecture roadmap for all Taxation’s systems and applications in server based environments), assists in agency-wide policy and information systems research and planning and formulates and implements technical policies and procedures related to all facets of information systems. With guidance from and at the request of senior Agency and division administration, represents Agency interests in statewide initiatives.

20% Evaluates information systems needs of agency and researches most difficult or complex information system problems (e.g., overall information system efficiency; security policies, protocols and procedures, resource planning; coordination efforts between agency information system operations); evaluates hardware and software products and/or evaluates procedures for acquisition and billing; keeps promotional materials; coordinates special projects and studies for information systems managers and writes reports of findings

15% Evaluates, analyzes and designs complex and/or inter-agency LAN/WAN implementation involving heterogenous platforms, protocols and/or network operating systems.

5% Represents agency at meetings with other governmental or agency officials; assists other agencies in resolving information systems problems; represents agency at conferences and technical committees.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for an Information Technology Consultant 3, you should document on your online application the following:
  • Completion of undergraduate core program coursework in information technology, electrical engineering or telecommunications; 5 yrs. exp. in information systems analysis, design & operations; 18 mos. exp. in project/program management; 2 courses or 6 mos. exp. in budgeting.

  • 12 mos. exp. as Information Technology Consultant 2, 64162.

  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above
