IT Specialist - Fostoria, OH

Manages information systems for the association. Provides operational support (hardware and software) to all levels of the organization. Serves as a liaison between the association and the AgFirst Information Management Department. Comply with all AgCredit, ACA policies and procedures while maintaining regular and punctual attendance as expected of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Internal team member support
    • Primary contact for the IT help desk function in conjunction with AgFirst Customer Support.
    • Work with AgFirst to implement Assyst help desk system.
    • Work with vendors to support wide area MPLS network, Shoretel IP phone system and local Aruba based wireless network connectivity.
    • Work with local vendors for branch onsite support.
    • Work with vendors to support Assn owned cell phones and tablets including troubleshooting, upgrades and monthly billing.
  • Setup, configure and upgrade computers and servers
    • Develop, maintain and load system images.
    • Configure per workstation installation checklist.
    • Deliver, setup and connect systems to network at branch location
    • Conduct system upgrades as needed including Windows OS, MS Office applications and hardware including memory and SSD’s.
    • Develop a working knowledge of Microsoft System Center to efficiently deliver software installs and updates.
    • Work with AgFirst as projects arise to install new capabilities.
  • Security vulnerability patching and Microsoft updates
    • Assist central IT security group in remediation of vulnerabilities identified via security scans.
    • Identify other needed MS updates and work with available software to perform these updates.
    • Identify, remove and report any virus/adware/spyware/exploits and other undesirable software
  • Hardware and Software tracking and inventory
    • Maintain up-to-date hardware and software inventory and process all changes as needed.
    • Conduct annual hardware and software inventory of all machines
    • Use available automated methods (MS System Center).
    • Uninstall software as directed
  • Attend IMD team meetings and other association events
    • Experience interaction of group meeting dynamic
    • Generate ideas for department success
  • Business Continuity
    • Participate in Business Continuity Committee meetings
    • Complete Business Continuity related assignments.
  • Special projects as assigned.
    • Assist IMD team as needed with day-to-day needs or other projects as the need may arise.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field or four years of IT related work experience.
  • Ability to setup, secure and troubleshoot: current Windows and Windows based applications; wired and wireless networks; and, Apple iOS based mobile devices.
  • Interacts effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to move (carry and install) monitors, keyboards, desktop and laptop computers as well as connect wiring from the top of a desk to the tower on the floor.
  • Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database management software, as well as program development and diagnostic software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to determine priorities while working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and required formats to recognize and correct correspondence and reports.
  • Reliable transportation. Ability to travel to branch offices (transporting computer equipment) as well as locations inside and outside the association for training.
  • Professional telephone skills.
  • Understanding of computer network security including Active Directory, VLAN and VPN configuration.
  • Understanding of the detection, means of propagation and elimination of computer vulnerabilities, viruses and exploits.
  • Knowledge of ShoreTel or other IP based phone system.
  • Knowledge of Aruba or other enterprise grade wireless networking system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft System Center software deployment and inventory capabilities.
  • Knowledge of MS Access, SQL Reporting Services or other reporting system.
