Ensure that the quality of incoming items (purchased finished goods, sub-components, and chemical raw materials) is meeting Sunstar Americas Inc.’s requirements and the applicable FDA and international standards requirements. Sample and inspect incoming items to ensure product safety and efficacy.


In this position you will use your experience to:

  • Inspect incoming materials for compliance with established specifications, utilizing standard AQLs and sampling techniques.
  • Sample chemical raw materials in accordance with written instructions for chemical testing
  • Perform necessary PRMS tasks as required per internal procedures
  • Perform product and components functional testing as directed by the specification, AQLs.
  • Identify and classify defects identified through inspection processes, place product on quarantine when applicable, select disposition for defective products and assist with the determination of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and process customer returns, damaged, and expired product in inventory
  • Work closely with Purchasing and Manufacturing personnel to select the proper disposition of nonconforming products.
  • Communicate with Suppliers regarding Product Rejections and Corrective Actions Responses.
  • Support production operations and critical business situations, support overtime
  • Assist with product certification requests;
  • Review product specifications preventively and inform engineering about specification errors or other opportunities for improvement;
  • Support the QA management with any special projects/activities in order to meet company goals.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • High School Diploma or higher
  • 1-5 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or similar field
  • Proficient in the use of measuring devices and instruments; demonstrated ability to read and interpret prints, specifications, and standards.
  • Demonstrated competence in use of available software for report preparation.
  • Good communication skills; ability to interact with others and with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational skills. Maintain accurate record filling.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of databases, spreadsheets.
  • Good computer skills. Experience with MS Office applications.
  • Good communication skills: Written and Oral
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of proficiency in the use of measuring devices and instruments, to read and interpret prints, specifications, and sampling plans.
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds, as well as across all levels of the organization.
