Mobile Communications America, Inc. is seeking a Installation Manager for our Security Division to support our Austin, TX area. The candidate will be experienced and motivated in providing “complete” lifecycle services in the field of electronic security systems. Schedule: Shift – approximately 8-10 hours per day primarily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with 1 hour lunch break unless arrangements have been agreed to by the employer and the employee; 5 days/week. Usually 40-50 hours/week or more based upon fluctuations in work load and job requirements.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Operations Manager will lead and motivate the operational installation team members to achieve or exceed margin targets and support growth. You’ll oversees the day-to-day operations of the Knight Security System Installation department with direct supervision of System Designers, Technicians, Project Managers, operational support personnel, and Sub-Contractors. The Installation Manager ensures that all Knight Security Systems personnel have the required skills, materials, training, and procedures to perform at an optimal level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide direction to departmental employees necessary to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure that the installation policies, processes and procedures are understood and followed.
- Monitor departmental performance against established objectives including monthly revenue, gross profit margins, technician scheduling, labor utilization and allocation to projects, and general operating expenses.
- Direct account communication and personal visits are required to strengthen client partnership
- Strategic planning and plan execution to grow systems revenue and improve project delivery
- Administration of employment related activity including verification and approval of weekly timesheets for hourly and salary Operations Department employees, approval of various employee requests and expenses.
- Assure that employees complete necessary safety and technical training
- Hire, train, coach, counsel and provide professional development opportunities for all departmental employees either personally or via supervisory personnel.
- Maintain material and maintenance schedules for Company vehicles and other Company assets including inventory on vehicles and in local offices
- Assure that all company records and files are maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures, and updated on a timely basis as required with information such as Bill of Materials, Work Schedule, Asset Sheets, Approved Plans, Permits, and Packing Slips for received materials, contractor bids, scope of work, as-built documentation, and Customer acceptance forms
- Review sales proposals for operational and material accuracy, providing support of other departments as requested.
- Hold regularly scheduled Installation Department meetings to identify any issues and provide detailed scheduling and direction.
- Verify and direct the procurement of equipment based on the Sales Force and Sales Engineering Designs and Bills of Material.
- Meet or exceed budgeted margin targets.
- Ensure proper staffing in place to handle workload.
- Ensure the entire operations staff operates within the Knight Security Systems Core Values of Honor, Integrity, Service.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Provide on-going coordination and communication with other departments and Executive Management via regularly scheduled meetings.
MENTAL DEMANDS:

PHYSICAL DEMAND CLASSIFICATION: LIGHT (Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds)
PHYSICAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:
- Constant (67-100%): sitting, talking to co-workers, and giving verbal instructions.
- Frequent (34-66%): vision, standing, walking, grasping, handling, hearing, supervising others, responding to written or verbal requests of co-workers and clients, talking to customers, written
communications to customers, talking on the telephone, and receiving verbal and written instructions.
- Occasional (1-33%): lifting ground to waist height up to 25#, carrying (10 to 15 feet) up to 25#, twisting, bending, forward reaching, and visiting different worksites.
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying: Occasional pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying is required when the employee is moving files, boxes, office supplies, materials, equipment, or demo gear. Force pounds were estimated to be 25-50#.
Sitting: The employee sits 80% to 90% of the time at a work station or desk, or while in a vehicle or meeting room
Standing/Walking: Alternate standing and walking is performed often when employee is walking within office or walking at a prospect or customer site.
Climbing/Bending/Stooping/Crouching/Squatting/Kneeling: These techniques can be used by the employee when performing lifting, carrying, or with position tolerance tasks. Climbing is performed when the employee needs to climb onto a step stool to reach items on shelves, or during jobsite evaluation visits. Forward torso bending, stooping and crouching may be preference of the worker when reaching or material handling at lowered work surfaces, assembling equipment, and/or reaching for items on the ground or lower shelves.
This position has regular verbal and written contact with sales personnel, middle and senior management. The nature of these communications range from a routine exchange of information to confidential communication, including a process of securing information and/or responding to inquiries where explanation and discussion may be required using judgment, and formal presentations.
SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of related operations management experience or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
- Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, TOOLS USED:
Computer, computer software, scanner, printer, telephone, copier, calculator, postage machine, paper cutter, and hand truck. May use other equipment as required for the position.

Work is performed primarily indoors unless employee is required to go out of the office on errands, customer site visits, sales calls, etc. Employee may be in contact with chemicals (i.e., toner for copier), and materials (i.e., paper) normally found at offices or construction job sites. Employee may also be occasionally exposed to noise and vibration.
Vision and Hearing:
Must be able to clearly see the computer monitor with or without corrected vision. Must be able to judge or distinguish distance and space relationships.
Must be able to hear within a normal range with or without a hearing device.
