Instructional Systems Designer:-

Introduction This document outlines the responsibilities of the Instructional Systems Designer.

Education and Certification Requirements • BS or BA degree, ideally in Instructional Design, Education or Technical Communication, Graphics Design, English. (Masters in HR, HPT or ISD preferred)

  • Working knowledge of eLearning technology and the ability to create and implement blended training solutions.

Preferred Experience / Skills Below is a listing of prior years of relevant experience, knowledge and skills required for this job:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the learning/training industry.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience providing Learning Consulting. Training project management experience.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment at a high level of competence.
  • Effective collaboration skills with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts. Ability to build and maintain credibility with internal and external contacts.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong consulting, analytical, negotiating, problem solving, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have strong business acumen with the ability to communicate capabilities, gather and assess client requirements, and communicate solution and value proposition to clients.
  • Experience proactively developing effective working relationships and using influence to gain commitment and deliver on desired/agreed outcomes with a range of stakeholders.
  • Able to describe key activities as simple processes/flow diagrams.
  • Strong facilitation skills including the ability to relate well with others and ability to adapt style and design ‘on the fly’ as needed.
  • Experience with Instructional Design (ISD) best practices, especially writing learning objectives, creation of eLearning interactions, an aligned evaluation.
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading.
  • Ability to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlines.
  • Work both independently and within a team.

Preferred Experience / Skills (cont.) • Knowledge of eLearning software capabilities as well as supplemental media capabilities (video, simulations, etc.) to create dynamic engaging learning solutions.

  • Experience with course development teams (Content Assembly, External vendors)—Preferred but not required.
  • Experience with branding and graphic design or development vendors (stock photography, etc.).
  • Experience with file maintenance, file share structure, and best practices.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $23.11 - $33.00 per hour
