The
Department of Chemistry
at Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a full-time, academic year (10 month) Chemistry Laboratory Instructor.
Job Summary: Responsibilities include teaching 4-5 freshman/sophomore chemistry laboratories and non-majors laboratories, maintaining the LMS pages, grading, attending weekly meetings, and holding office hours. The instructor will be responsible for lab prep and break down, lab maintenance, and ensuring that safety standards are met.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise and coordinate daily laboratory operations of assigned lab courses.
- Ensure that the assigned lab courses are set-up and stocked prior to lab and broken down and cleaned post-lab.
- Prepare all materials, equipment, paperwork, and lectures for assigned labs.
- Coordinate with faculty on appropriate lab syllabus and rubrics for grading.
- Supervise all lab activities, ensuring adherence to proper safety standards.
- Teach lab courses and grade lab work.
- Supervise one or two payroll/work-study students.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in chemistry or related area preferred, but those with a bachelor’s degree and teaching experience will be considered.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work during the academic year, with PTO only taken when it does not conflict with class times.
