Come be a part of a new branch of the Venus Test Department! We handle wide variety of tests for Venus, covering such things as: engine hot fires, vehicle structural testing, vibration testing, component testing, and more! Your role will support existing engineers and acquisition systems and eventually grow to own all Test Department data and control systems. This will cover abroad variety of tasks like system design, selection of acquisition, control, and instrumentation components, fabrication and troubleshooting of systems, and operations support. Additionally, you will be the primary interface with the software team, ensuring the test software meets the needs of the team.

What You Have:

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems for new and existing test stands
  • Generate electrical schematics and Interface Control Documents for new test stands and revise as needed
  • Perform electrical system analysis to determine appropriate system components
  • Partner with vendors to select and procure components
  • Participate in test operations as needed. This will cover a broad range of test including engine hot fires, structural, vibration, thermal, etc.
  • Participate in data analysis to ensure the systems are performing as expected and customers are getting the necessary data

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Minimum of 5 years total experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience associated with data and control system specification, design, and implementation
  • Experience designing, building, and operating data and control systems
  • Experience with instrumentation selection and calibration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and as a self-motivated individual
  • Experience working in a configuration managed environment
  • Experience working closely with operators to ensure final product meets their needs
  • Willingness to challenge how things are typically done in search of better, more efficient methods
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards and best practices
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic fundamentals –voltage, current, resistance, Ohm’s Law, AC/DC, right-hand rule, solenoids, etc.
  • Effective at communicating technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • High self-motivation and drive to execute quickly
  • Must be able to meet ITAR requirements.
  • Must be able to be onsite.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Experience with NI hardware (PXIe, cRIO, cDAQ)
  • Experience with designing and commissioning new test facilities
  • Experience developing and executing test procedures
  • Experience with high speed (500kHz) data systems
