Aston Carter has an immediate need for am Insurance Auditor for a large employer in the Wilkes Barre, PA area. This is a first shift opportunity on a hybrid schedule. Candidates must be able to commute to Wilkes Barre, PA and will start on June 5, 2023.

The premium auditor will be responsible for conducting Worker’s Compensation insurance audits. The purpose of an audit is to determine the customer’s actual insurance exposure and to process adjustments to ensure appropriate premiums are billed to the customer.

Specifically you will be tasked with:

  • Reviewing and analyzing payroll, tax, and accounting records to determine the appropriate premium base for a variety of insurance lines, including Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, and Professional Liability (a.k.a. Errors and Omissions)
  • Obtaining descriptions of business operations, employee job duties, and other relevant information over the phone and through email
  • Determine if proper insurance classification codes have been assigned to customer policies according to the state manuals and suggest class code changes when appropriate
  • Adjust premiums based on state manual rules, such as officer wage adjustments, premium overtime credits, tip credits, etc.
  • Complete audit worksheets using an Excel template and process the audit findings in our database
  • Provide superior customer service to the policyholders throughout the audit process
  • Resolve customer disputes regarding audit results

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with a 2.9 GPA or higher required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer navigation skills
