Job Description

The Benefits Verification Representative, under the direction of the Supervisor of Pre Access, ensures that patient benefits are verified, that authorizations are accurate and that patient record is updated accordingly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Verify benefits via phone, insurance websites, Availity and/or Passport.

  • Ensure that authorization has been completed if required.

  • Review Powerchart for patient authorization and insurance information.

  • Perform patient estimates utilizing Carepricer.
  • The Concierge reviews benefit orders that have been processed in WQM.
  • Ensure that all benefit and authorization information is accurately noted in the patient account.

Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent

Experience:

  • Customer Service/multiple phone line experience preferred
  • Previous medical experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred
