Funding for this position is provided by a grant from the Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) Incentive Program as funded by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) through Partnership HealthPlan of California. Duration: January 2023 thru December 2025
Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Behavioral Health (BH) Director, the BH Integration (BHI) Clinician will provide direct services including; individual (child, youth and adults), couple, family and group therapeutic services to Sonoma County Indian Health Project, Inc. (SCIHP) patients. When needed in the Medical Department the BHI Clinician will be supervised by the Medical Director, will be part of SCIHPs integrated Medical Department, and provide treatments that include; screening tools, managing panels, providing specialty BH consultation and solution focused therapy techniques. The BHI Clinician will collaborate with the Supervising LCSW to determine the best assessments, treatment and discharge plans on a case by case basis and by patient need. Responsible to coordinate the activities and objectives of the DHCS BHI Program including plans to improve physical and behavioral health outcomes, care delivery efficiency, and patient experience by expanding SCIHPs integrated care services. The BHI Clinician will utilize culturally appropriate teams with expertise in primary care, substance use, and mental health, that will deliver coordinated comprehensive care for the whole patient.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage Family Therapy
- Hold & maintain current, valid & unrestricted LCSW professional license or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) professional license with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Knowledge of theory and treatment practices of intrapsychic, interpersonal and social problems; community mental health; alcohol and other drug abuse interventions; and community agencies and resources that assist with physical and emotional wellness.
- Experience and sensitivity in providing child therapy and family therapy is critical
- Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Maintain a California Drivers license and be insurable.
- Must provide proof of completed COVID & booster vaccines, also annual Flu vaccine.

- Must be sensitive to the needs of Native Americans and knowledgeable of their culture, traditions (beliefs and practices), history, and community (in Sonoma County/Northern CA).
