The
IT Project Engineer will provide a high level of customer service to clients through excellent communication and detailed documentation. They will work with other Implementation Engineers and Project Managers to deploy equipment and tools, as well as provide technical expertise during the onboarding process.
In order to ensure an exceptional result, you will need to have a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities our customers face and how our teams as a whole combine to deliver our promise. Providing services in a proactive, professional manner while ensuring key parties are kept informed is critical. We are a data driven company and analysis for decision making and overall strategy is ongoing.

Key Responsibilities
- Understand and follow “The VC3 Way”. This is our set of standards and processes that produce a predictable result for the customer. You must be aware of and maintain our standards.
- Implement project work as per project scope, specifications, and deliverables for mid-large-sized companies and municipalities.
- Maintain close adherence to schedule and inform the Project Manager and/or Implementation Manager if unable to do so.
- Attend IT Roadmap meetings and make recommendations on client IT environment improvements.
- Great communication skills, ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Create and update documentation when changes occur, or when discoveries are made.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and real time timesheets, record complete and accurate notes of troubleshooting and communication with clients
- Receive mentoring and feedback from peers and others
- Where appropriate, escalate complicated issues to a more senior resource or other appropriate teams
- Review Tickets with Manager
- Actively Participate in Team Huddles, L10 Meetings, One on One Meetings, and any other Team Meetings
- Attend monthly training & team meetings as required.
- Remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
- Maintain knowledge of the products and services we offer.
- Mentor less experienced implementation engineers, including advising, coaching, teaching and guiding them.
Education Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge
- Good problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to understand and analyze complex issues
- Self-motivated, detail orientated, highly organized and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner with a high level of quality
- High School diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
- At least 5 years relevant IT experience fully supporting SMB/MSP environments.
- Demonstrated expertise or experience with:
o Microsoft 365
o Windows Server
o Exchange Server
o Azure Cloud
o Active Directory
o GPOs
o SQL Server administration
o Citrix
o Virtualization concepts (VMWare/HyperV)
o Basic TCP/IP troubleshooting knowledge
o General understanding of internet protocols including DNS/SMTP/DHCP
o Installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise backup solutions
o Understanding of client and server hardware configurations including redundancy and RAID architectures
o Solid understanding of routing/switching/subnetting/firewalls/vpns
o Windows Server
o Exchange Server
o Azure Cloud
o Active Directory
o GPOs
o SQL Server administration
o Citrix
o Virtualization concepts (VMWare/HyperV)
o Basic TCP/IP troubleshooting knowledge
o General understanding of internet protocols including DNS/SMTP/DHCP

- Applicant selected will be subject to a criminal, credit, and department of motor vehicles background checks and must meet Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) requirements post-employment.
- Driver’s license required.
- Full time access to vehicle required (for travel to client sites)
- Extended travel as required.
