Position Summary:

The IT Project Management & Delivery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the proper initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and closing of select projects in our Global IT Portfolio. This role will work in a global matrix environment and provide project management expertise support and guidance to a team of global IT project leads as well as others within our organization. Responsibilities will include oversight to ensure projects are delivered to plan. The position will also support Project Portfolio activities including project intake, alignment, estimation, prioritization, dependencies, resourcing, scheduling, and reporting.


Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Member of the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) function and a key collaborator with global IT, market IT and business units.

  • Train, coach and mentor resources on project management processes and methodologies

  • Ensure PPM standards and continuously benchmark project management area to identify the potential for improvements.

  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure overall project portfolio is executed in accordance with plan

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of project members to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget

  • Managing select projects through all phases of the project lifecycle as needed.

  • Create and maintain project charters, project plans, RAID logs, status reports, metrics, and communication plans

  • Identify and manage project risks and issues proactively.

  • Support project intake, estimation, and prioritization processes

  • Support portfolio level resourcing, scheduling activities and reporting

  • Build and sustain positive relationships, reinforcing a positive environment of collaboration and respect.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of related experience and 3+ years of supervisory experience

  • Extensive IT Project Management experience with familiarity with SDLC and varied project management methodologies (Project Management Institute, Agile, other approaches)

  • Practical change management background

  • Ability to manage projects from concept through post implementation reviews

  • Ability to lead cross-functional project teams.

  • Experience working with remote teams

  • Knowledge of project planning tools

  • Proficient in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels of leadership

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills

  • Expertise in setting and managing stakeholder expectations

  • Travel – less than 20%

  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline

  • 10+ years of IT project management experience

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred

  • Experience in Agile methodology – Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) preferred

  • Strong knowledge of MS Project, Jira, ChangePoint PPM and Smartsheet

  • Training, Change Management certification

  • Experience working in a global matrix environment

  • Experience within Supply Chain/Distribution/Transportation industry

  • Experience with Resource Management at a portfolio level
