Job Summary

Under the direction of an Information Technology Manager, supervises the day-to-day operations of an assigned functional area within Technology Solutions. Contributes to the implementation of corporate policies and procedures as well as providing recommendations and support of assigned functional area within the department. The Information Technology Supervisor carries out operating policies and procedures with a focus in one functional area such as general technology, web, telecommunications, networking, media, or customer support.

This position is not amenable to remote or hybrid work arrangements. The successful McKinley’s Wisconsin mill sits on the banks of the Fox River between Appleton and Green Bay WI, in the village of Combined Locks, where exceptional paper has been made since 1889.

McKinley Wisconsin is part of the McKinley division of Bio Pappel. The mill produces mainly 100% recycled paperboard & bag papers as well as printing & writing papers.

General Responsibilities

• Supervises a work group of technical support staff.
• Servers and Network administration.
• Database Administration
• Administer and maintain the Windows infrastructure, servers, clients and the various roles included like DHCP server.
• Support and maintain the storage area network for the data on the servers.
• Maintain and upgrade computer software including the operating systems, applications and network.
• Backup and recovery systems.
• Coordinate with vendors of hardware and software to ensure that their products and services meet business needs.
• Provide technical expertise and problem-solving assistance as needed on call nights and weekends.
• Leading projects and coordinating with other teams to produce better business outcomes.
• Support and maintain the applications in the production area (JDEdwards / SAP, PI, PARC, MES, etc).
• Identify specific business opportunities.

Major Challenges

• Organize and prioritize the workload to keep all systems up and running accurately.
• Provide accurate information in response to inquiries from employees, individuals and groups outside the mill.
• Be able to handle multiple projects with changing priorities.

Knowledge and Skills

• High School Diploma. GED acceptable if candidate also has secondary education directly applicable to the position.
• May require an associate degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Proficient in designing, installing and supporting various hardware and software systems including servers, PCs, and WAN/LAN and Wi-Fi networks.
• Very strong troubleshooting skills.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including effective development of training and reference documentation.
• Ability to facilitate change in a productive and proactive manner, maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations and work with diverse workforce and external entities.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Mediating conflict.
• Conducting negotiations.
• Maintaining confidentiality.
• Desirable: Ability to write and speak in Spanish is highly desirable but not required. This position will have to communicate frequently with Corporate IT in Mexico to request support and / or for Projects Management.
