INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY – SUPPORT TECHNICIAN
8 hours/day - 12 month work calendar

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong aptitude in operating systems, troubleshooting, processes/support & customer service.
  • Possess a high level of independent judgment within established procedures
  • 3+ years of directly related experience
  • Knowledge of or experience in a variety of software systems such as student information, library and ?food service. ?
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Credible References
  • Detail oriented.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to communicate problems with supervisor(s) as they become known.
  • Ability to provide end users with outstanding customer care and service at all times.
  • Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Information and Technology Services

JOB GOAL: The Support Technician is a professional position that provides technology assistance throughout all building levels so that each staff member and student can have maximum use of district software and hardware. The support technician will receive tickets assigned through the IT work order system and should work to prioritize support throughout the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support network connectivity
  • Support loading of software
  • Trouble-shoot technology problems and relay pertinent information back to helpdesk or other appropriate personnel.
  • Installation of peripheral devices
  • Assist with setup of in-service equipment
  • Provide technology assistance to all building staff
  • Ability to work closely with other technicians on techniques, work, etc. as needed to keep projects work flowing.
  • Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills
  • Adheres to good safety practices.
  • Adheres to all district rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

RETIREMENT: Public Education Employee Retirement Systems (PEERS) & Social Security or Certified Teacher (PSRS) & Social Security

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Class F Drivers License

CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and twelve month work calendar to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Support Staff Evaluation process.
