OVERVIEW

The primary purpose of the janitor is to maintain the building and it's fixtures in a clean and orderly manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Sweep and mop floors as required
• Empty trash containers
• Wipe down surfaces that get dirty
• Clean bathrooms and fixtures
• Clean breakrooms and appliances in them
• Vacuum carpeting
• Wash walls
• Move furniture as required
• Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal or leaf raking as required

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

• Able to sit, stand, walk or climb as required.
• Able to safely work on ladders
• Knowledge on how to operate manual and power equipment.

KNOWLEDGE

• Knows how to set and turn off plant security system
• Understands how to operate riding floor scrubber and sweeper
• Knows how to operate powered floor buffer
• Has good and safe working knowledge of types of cleaners and equipment used in cleaning processes
• General working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

EDUCATION

• High school diploma required
