We have an immediate opening for a Porter to join our dynamic team! This position reports to the General Manager.

We have an immediate opening for a Porter to join our dynamic team! This position reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Models and delivers outstanding customer service.
- Responsible for performing maintenance and janitorial duties throughout the store.
- Regular maintenance such as cleaning the floors and bathrooms.
- Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment cleanliness, repair, and safety standards.
- Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality service, and store safety and security.
- Ability to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift.
- Arrives on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
- Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Immediately reports safety hazards.
Requirements:
- Previous custodial experience preferred in a food-centric environment.
- High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for Haymarket products, core values, and company philosophy.
- Ability to:
- Identify and troubleshoot issues and provide appropriate solutions.
- Deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.
- Follow directions and procedures, effective time management and organization skills.
- Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
- Must have the flexibility to work weekends and with working hours.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Reaching above and at shoulder level frequently.
- Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, and cleaning solvents.
- Exposure to noise.
- Working with bio-hazards such as blood borne pathogens and sewage.
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures: <32 degrees Fahrenheit (freezers), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators), >90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
- Properly handle and safely climb ladders
