Description:

• Sylvester & Cockrum, Inc is accepting resumes for openings for Journeyman Electricians.
• The position is based out of our Winston Salem, NC office.
• Must be able to Install, maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls
• Proficient in lighting retrofits
• in a commercial, Industrial, manufacturing and residential environments.
• Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial
• electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial or commercial environment through the
• proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
• Reads and understands conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Able to set and coordinate overcurrent protective devices, size feeder circuits
• Bend, cut, thread and install conduit.
• Install and terminate wiring.
• Check out and troubleshoot simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
• Accountable for testing, troubleshooting, setting and calibrating power distribution systems,
• while working with protective relaying and motor control circuit.
• Lighting maintenance experience required.
• Willing to travel out of town a week at a time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Six (6) years’ experience as an electrician, including three (3) years in industrial electrical work
• or in relevant field is preferred.
• At least two years in an accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
• Possesses current knowledge of Journeyman Electrician, and an understanding of organizational
• practices.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical
• electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor
• control centers, generators, batteries and lighting systems.
• Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by company’s auto insurer required.
• Must have own tools.
• Class B CDL.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 /hour
