Job Description – Jr Buyer
Assists with purchasing decisions and processes. Issue purchase orders. Assist with daily inventory adjustments or inventory issues.
Experience - Demonstrated ability to perform all trained processes and duties within a reasonable timeframe established by employer. Demonstrated ability to follow standard operations and instructions with minimal supervision. Willingness to accept training for new operations as business needs arise.
Tasks
- Generate MRP at least weekly – cut PO’s, review Pull-Ins, Push-Outs and Unneeded
- Issue Cycle count daily
- Inventory adjustments and Issues daily
- Reconcile transfer bins as needed
- Process Returns for credit as needed
- Cut Misc. PO’s as needed
- Assist with full inventory warehouse count at least yearly – start in September
- PO Cleanup for late PO’s weekly
- Review new BOM as needed
- Review any PO Receipt discrepancies and correct as needed
- Verify receipt of PO’s that have not been acknowledged
- Determine mode of transportation for incoming supplies
- Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
- Control purchasing department budgets.
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
