Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Junior Estimator will be assisting the Sr Estimator in putting proposals for public and private construction projects, along with assembling complete bid packages and proposals to efficiently, successfully, and profitably obtain and complete assigned construction projects. This position reports to the Sr Estimator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Develop estimates from various types of bid documents and specifications
- Ensure thorough and accurate quantity takeoffs.
- Thoroughly read plans and specifications and review for accurate scope of work and means & methods assessment.
- Visit proposed job sites (local\regional only)
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Obtain owner sign-off on all bids before submittal
- Understand and be able to account for factors outside company control which will impact the final bid package
- Other duties as assigned
