We are excited to welcome a visionary Junior Interior Designer to lead the design efforts for our existing communities as well as planning for our robust pipeline of new communities. This position is in-person and based at the Belmont Village Senior Living headquarters in Houston, Texas to allow for maximum collaboration with our in-house development and operations teams.

PURPOSE

Assist in developing, and implementing the company's interior design strategy. Participate in annual refresh of existing communities, capital expenditure projects and new development projects. Utilize experience and knowledge of interior design principles, construction and building regulations to create upscale, state-of-the-art living experiences for our senior living licensed facilities. Use hands on approach and collaboration to create new and exciting environments for both existing communities and new development projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Brand

  • Collaborate and assist in maintaining and updating all interior standards
  • Collaborate and assist in maintaining centralized records of Belmont Village communities including:
    • Finishes and Colors
    • F, F & E
    • Art work
    • Accessories

Capital Expenditures and Renovations (existing communities)

  • Participate in annual review of interiors of all Belmont Village communities
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Capital Expenditures, Manager of Design, Architects, and Development Manager on Capital investments
  • Specification and pricing of finishes including, but not limited to: flooring, wall covering, and paint colors for Capital Expenditures and Renovation Projects.
  • Specification and pricing of F, F & E for Capital Expenditure and Renovation Projects.
  • Specification and pricing of artwork and accessories for Capital Expenditure and Renovation Projects.
  • Assist in presenting Capital Expenditure and Renovation Projects to management team and financial partner for approval.
  • Support purchasing and installation of Capital Expenditures and Renovations projects
  • Document, detail and coordinate drawings for purposes of construction.

New Communities Design Phase

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Design and Development Manager on the interior design of new communities in development.
  • Design, specify and assist in pricing of all finishes including, but not limited to, flooring, wall covering, lighting and paint colors.
  • Collaborate, specify and assist in pricing of the F, F & E package for new communities.
  • Collaborate, specify and assist in pricing of all artwork and accessories for new communities.
  • Assist in preparation of pricing summary of all selected F, F & E items (including artwork and accessories)
  • Participate in new project presentation of interior design selections and pricing for management team and partner approval.
  • Support purchasing and installation.
  • Inspect all installed finishes to ensure that they meet Specifications and notify Development Manager of any punch list items.
  • Inspect all F, F & E to ensure that it meets Specifications, and order any repairs or replacements.

Occupancy Phase

  • Assist in updating interior standards to incorporate feedback from operations and marketing

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years progressive experience in Interior Design
  • College Degree
  • Experienced with new construction
  • Knowledgeable of interior design principles, construction and building codes
  • Skilled in interpreting, organizing and executing the conceptual interior design of a project utilizing creativity and forethought through project completion
  • Keen understanding of business strategy and hospitality trends
  • Ability to work in a team environment with good collaborative skills
  • Proven presentation and communication skills
  • Bi-Weekly In-person meetings with Manager of Interiors to review project tasks & discuss design development and intent for new projects and capital projects
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to accomplish required tasks
  • Willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to participate in new construction interior design installs
  • Ability to create CAD documentation for the purpose of construction reference. Drawings to include, but not limited to:
  • Finish Legend/Schedule
  • Flooring Plan
  • Interior Elevations
  • Interior Details
  • Furniture Plan
  • Ceiling Plan
  • Lighting Plan

PREFERENCES

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Interior Design Management experience in Senior Housing or Hospitality Industry
