DEA’s Denver, CO office is hiring a Junior Transportation Planner to support our Smart Mobility practice while working on transportation related projects. The responsibilities will be diverse and will include technical and administrative tasks to assist DEA with research of data, design and production of project related deliverables including technical drawings and reports.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with multimodal traffic operations analysis, corridor studies, traffic impact analysis, and area transportation plans.
  • Public engagement planning, coordination, and meeting logistics.
  • Contribute to traffic projections, transportation analysis, and transportation planning evaluations using computer software techniques.
  • Analyze data and existing and/or recommended conditions.
  • Complete analysis using Excel and/or GIS (examples include public engagement surveys/mailing list creation, level of traffic stress, bus stop boardings/alightings, and estimating future bicycle/pedestrian demand).
  • Create production of project deliverables, including written documentation and maps/graphics.
  • Support business development activities in the area of traffic engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, and active transportation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in a planning, engineering, or architecture related field
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of ArcMap/ArcPro (GIS), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and/or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
