ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person in the job. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the responsibilities and skills required.)

  • Follows the USDA practices and procedures; assists the lead baker in the production of all bakery products.
  • Bakes and prepares a variety of bakery items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, sealers, etc.
  • Checks daily inventory and ensures bakery supplies have been ordered or are on hand.
  • Keeps all equipment, storage rooms, walk-in and freezer organized, clean and safe.
  • Assists in daily cleanliness of bakery, i.e., sweep/mop, trash removal and as situation dictates.
  • Ensure that all health and safety codes are being followed.
  • Establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with HCEOC employees and contract agents.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Lead Baker and/or Bakery Manager.
