Main Objective: As Kitchen Manager you play an integral role in fulfilling the Savage Goods mission by developing engaged, empowered team members, mastering systems to ensure quality and efficiency, exercising acute attention to detail, and striving to exceed guest expectations at every opportunity.

Availability Requirements: Full time Wednesday-Sunday, flexible schedule with open availability, including weekends and holidays

Role and Responsibilities:

Team Management and Development

• Consistent scheduling for the Back of House team
• Tracking attendance and performance for the BOH team
• Leading the BOH hiring, training, and corrective action processes
• Leading regular check-ins with BOH team members and addressing concerns and conflict promptly and proactively

Daily Operations

• Working alongside the BOH team to consistently exceed guest expectations by ensuring efficient, and high quality daily food service
• Managing daily opening, closing, prep, and sidework processes
• Establishing and maintaining kitchen organizing principles
• Coordinating periodic quality control audits
• Providing BOH shift support as part of a rotating schedule.
• Providing FOH shift support as needed

Kitchen Management

• Consistent and efficient product ordering using kitchen systems
• Meeting budget goals and tracking menu item costs
• Managing product efficiently and maintaining food safety standards
• Holding the Back of House team accountable to prep and par list systems, and updating as needed

The ideal Kitchen Manager candidate:

• Demonstrates a proven passion for culinary excellence and exceeding guest expectations
• Has a comprehensive knowledge of food with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation
• Has 2+ years of experience in a restaurant management role
• Has 2+ years of experience in a quick service/fast casual restaurant setting (preferred)
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment while balancing competing priorities
• Has experience managing and developing teams
• Is passionate about creating an exceptional experience for our guests
• Is eager to work within systems to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency
• Is clear and consistent in their behavior and communication, caring deeply and challenging directly
• Is solution-oriented, curious, and eager to take on new challenges
• Is organized, consistent, reliable, and approachable
• Is self-motivated, taking initiative and thinking of the big picture
• Is a people person, skilled at motivating others and excited to invest in their team
• Is humble, with a desire to help where needed and to work as part of a team
• Is energetic and enjoys the pace and demand of the restaurant industry
• Is comfortable communicating through email and is proficient in Google Docs & Sheets
• Is able to work on their feet for 10+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
