Position Summary
The Indirect Procurement team is seeking an experienced Lab Supply Manager to execute and provide oversight of sourcing activities across multiple markets, sites and spend. The role requires a strong understanding of procurement policies and procedures to ensure competitive bidding and cost reductions are realized in an effective manner. The Lab Supply Manager will leverage Zoetis’ procure-to-pay systems (e.g., Guided/Spot Buying, Catalogs, Spend Management, etc.) and will play an active role in consolidating the supply base and ensuring high quality and service.
Position Responsibilities
- Align with stakeholders on business requirements and objectives to promote adoption of best-in-class lab supply strategies and industry trends.
- Support spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, security of supply, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with business stakeholders, suppliers, and other supporting corporate enabling functions (e.g., legal, risk and compliance, etc.).
- Partner with Category Strategy Global Leads by contributing to annual category strategy development, opportunity planning and executive stakeholder communications.
- Prepare competitive bid packages or support lab supply competitive bidding activities, including supplier due diligence, price negotiations and supplier onboarding, across multiple markets and sites.
- Evaluate supplier bids/quotes to ensure alignment with cost targets, quality standard and service expectations.
- Measure metrics, conduct spend analytics, requisition/purchase order reports, contract repositories, etc. to identify cost savings, supplier consolidation opportunities,
- Support lab supply training and stakeholder communications; demonstrate end-to-end procurement process expertise.
- Communicates on a daily basis with business stakeholders, suppliers, and other corporate enabling functions (e.g., legal, risk and compliance, etc.) to enable a seamless and efficient lab supply procurement process.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a technical major or business concentration (pharm experience preferred) .
- Certified Purchasing Manager or equivalent credentials desirable.
- Significant experience using SAP Spend Management Suite (Ariba, Spend, Contracts, etc.).
- Proficient in analytics, negotiations, time-management and communications.
- 3+ years of tail spend management (and/or sourcing procurement) in an operational role.
- Regional work experience working across multiple category teams, site procurement and P2P shared services
