Shift: Monday- Friday, 3:30 PM start time

Responsibilities

  • Perform required syrup testing for appearance, odor, taste, brix, color acidity or pH and recommend necessary adjustments if necessary.
  • Perform required product testing at needed intervals for appearance, odor, taste, brix, color, acidity, pH, carbonation, air and make necessary adjustments in the respective setting to run product on target.
  • Monitor all package quality requirements such as container condition, label condition, closure/seam condition.
  • Perform seam/torque pressure test as required.
  • Operate, test, treat and maintain water treatment system.
  • Set-up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as density meter, spectrophotometer, pH meter, burettes, hydrometers, balances, etc.
  • Provide daily direction to syrup and sanitation operators.
  • Calibrate lab instruments on required intervals.
  • Record test results on standardized forms to maintain proper documentation, track syrup yields and production reports.
  • Prepare graphs and charts.
  • Do micro-biological testing as required.
  • Keep track of production rotation in the warehouse & advise accordingly for the age of product.
  • Operate and maintain video jets (should be able to perform basic troubleshooting).
  • Set-up and maintain the fil-tecs.
  • Basic knowledge of the operation of the carbo-cooler, filler, seamer/caper to eliminate or point out trouble which may result in non-conforming product Implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Applies quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: B. A. degree or equivalent from a four-year college or equivalent combination of education & exp.

Experience: One - two year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and expensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 34 pounds.
