A. KEY RESULTS: Operate the label machine to maintain plant efficiency and budgeted case costs. Maintain a clean work area. Comply with Company policies and safety procedures. B. SPECIFIC TASKS: (Describe the tasks in as detailed steps as possible) 1. Roll Through Labeler: a. Obtain appropriate labels from Critical Cage Attendant b. Lower the label magazine bar, insert the labels, and raise bar back into position c. Run a few cans to check for label alignment and glue pattern d. If the label is not straight, adjust the label magazine in or out e. Once the label is placed correctly star the labeler and release the cans for production f. Check cans continually to ensure proper labeling 2. When a label change is made: a. Obtain new labels from Critical Cage Attendant b. Make sure all cans from the previous code are used c. Lower magazine bar, insert new label and raise the bar back into position d. Run a few cans to check for label alignment and glue pattern e. Notify the caser operator that a label change is coming f. Start the line when the caser operator is ready for the new label g. Add glue to the glue pot to maintain the proper level 3. Krones or Eti Tech Labeler: a. Obtain appropriate labels from Critical Cage Attendant b. Slide the spring-loaded label arms back, insert the labels, and release the labels arms until they reach the label c. Run a few cans to check label alignment and glue pattern d. If the label is not straight, raise or lower the label magazine e. When the label is placed correctly turn the can stop switch to on f. Run the labeler and check the cans, if no further adjustment is necessary, increase the speed of the labeler to high. g. Check cans continually to ensure proper labeling 4. When label change is made: a. Obtain appropriate labels from Critical Cage Attendant b. Make sure there are no cans from the previous code around the work area c. Remove the old label and insert the new label d. Notify the shiner attendant, tray pack operator, and the label operator that the label change is ready. e. When the shiner attendant, tray pack operator and label operator are ready, start the labeler for production. f. Add glue to the glue pot to maintain the proper level 5. Perform other duties as assigned by line leader 6. Comply with Company policies and safety requirements 7. Never put hands into moving equipment!
