Job Description: The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of patients. This includes analyzing body fluids, tissues, and other substances to determine chemical composition, cell count, and blood type. The technician will also operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensure quality control procedures are followed, and prepare reports of laboratory findings.
Education and Certification Requirements: The ideal candidate should possess an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, although equivalent education and experience will be considered. They should also have certification or be eligible for certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist through a recognized accreditation agency such as ASCP, AMT, or NCA.
