Job Summary

This position is required to mix and bag feed products for customers as ordered. This position also loads and unloads trucks.

Essential Functions

· Unload product that is brought in to the facility. Must make sure that product is placed in correct bins so as not to mix the different products.

· Produce 50 lb bags of product by loading onto conveyor belt which feeds to a machine that is automatically bags the product.

· Load completed bags of fertilizer onto pallets. The full pallet is then stretch wrapped and then placed into warehouse.

· Load and unload trucks as needed.

· Receive job order for feed with specific blending requirements. Product is put into mixer and when blending is complete, placed into totes. Sample of all product blended is taken and set aside for product recall purposes. Totes are either stored in the warehouse or loaded onto trucks.

· Assist with the mixing of dairy feed as needed.

· Assist in keeping warehouse clean.

Job Summary

Blend, load, and unload finished product and raw materials. Maintain a safe and orderly work environment. Follow all plant policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Blend finished product for shipping.
  • Stage finished product for loading.
  • Load finished product onto truck or tote.
  • Unload raw materials from truck or railcar.
  • Responsible for quality control. No damaged or off spec product is sent out. No damaged or off spec raw material is accepted in.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Operate pumps, forklift, trucks, and loaders.
  • Handle warehouse operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on loaders, pumps, hoses and tanks as needed as well as general plant equipment maintenance.
  • Flexibility in daily tasks.
  • Clean and maintain work area daily.
  • Must be able to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift certification and applicable training that will be provided.
  • Must be able to operate a front-end loader.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds required.
  • Ability to drive. Must have Drivers license.
  • Perform simple math calculations.
  • Must not have a fear of heights.

Environmental Conditions

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 55 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Hours

Full-time. Extra hours seasonally.
