Lakewood Health System is seeking a full-time or part-time Lactation Consultant to join our team!

As a Lactation Consultant, your duties will include being responsible for educating and assisting parents and infants on infant nutrition, which includes breastfeeding basics, and to help resolve problems and difficulties related to infant feeding. This position also educates staff on assisting with breastfeeding basics, and helping mothers establish and manage their feeding goals. They will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and maintain breastfeeding statistics and goals to optimize outcomes related to infant nutrition.

This is a full-time or part-time position working up to 72 hours every two weeks.

• IBCLC, RN, IBCLC or CLC RN

• CPR Certification required by completion of introductory period

• Must demonstrate the ability to counsel and assist mothers with feeding goals

• Maintain and develop educational programs for families and staff

• Strong communication skills to effectively communicate to maintain and optimize relationships with medical staff, nursing staff, employees and the public
