Come join our growing team in our Newnan office. The Survey Crew Chief position will be responsible for working in the field to complete various land survey projects in the Atlanta Metro area. This position will be working with a Registered Land Surveyor and assisting in developing survey databases, boundary, topographic surveys, and construction staking for engineering design projects and individual surveying clients. Position provides opportunity for growth and promotion into a leadership role.

The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment as part of a survey crew. This work is ideal for someone who enjoys being outside and doesn't mind the weather. ISE will provide the training and experience necessary to advance in the survey industry, offering job growth and opportunity for candidates that demonstrate ambition and ability.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities.

  • Surveys will consist of topographic, boundary, subdivision, ALTA, wetlands and construction layout to determine the locations of natural features and manmade structures
  • Operate survey instruments such as robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data
  • Interpret construction plans, perform necessary calculations in the field, and perform construction layout
  • Create legible and accurate field notes
  • Set up, minor maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles and supplies
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years survey or construction related experience
  • Familiar with field procedures for performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys
  • College or technical courses in mathematics and surveying is preferred
  • Prior Instrument Operator experience preferred
  • Experience with Carlson Survey, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is a plus
  • Physical and mental ability to work in a variety of challenging outdoor environments and weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proven record of being a team player, strong work ethic and dependability
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and willingness to work as part of a drug free work place
