Job description
The Landscape Architect practices by providing site planning, urban and landscape design, and graphic and technical production. Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors. Projects are comprised primarily of high-end residential and negotiated commercial, but also include land planning, urban design and infrastructure design, parks and other community facility design. Work includes all phases of landscape design, from planning and conceptual design through construction documents and construction support services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Executes design related tasks, measure, base maps, render, ordinance research technical deliverables and administrative assignments.
- Independently develops and advance project objectives based on supervision by Design Team.
- Participates in project meeting and public presentations.
- Prepares of site design and construction documents.
- Meets prospective clients at their homes to discuss landscaping plans and verbally sharing initial concepts during the walk through.
- Coordinates with other team members and suppliers to determine project details and scope.
- Observes the installation process.
- Follows up with customers during the planning process, installation process and after the job is complete to ensure complete satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft (Word and Excel) skills
- Working knowledge of graphic software programs (Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, Illustrator, GIS/ArcView and PowerPoint)
- Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Self-motivated; sense of urgency to produce high quality work
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Degree in Landscape Architecture
- Design/build experience preferred but not required
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by the Louisiana Driver’s License requirements.
Job Conditions:
The work environment is an office setting and a landscaping project job site located primarily at residential properties. The position requires the use of a variety of computer equipment and other general office equipment. While visiting job sites the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
