Job Title: Landscaping, Grounds and Tennis Court Maintenance Labor WILLING TO TRAIN!
Salary Range: $17.00 - $18.00 hourly based on Maintenance Laborer experience and performance

Summary: The Trail Club’s Tennis Court & Grounds Staff will work on a diverse range of activities in the up keep of club tennis courts, surrounding landscaping and grounds and other maintenance functions.

This position must assure high standards of appearance, cleanliness, safety and service is maintained on club grounds at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Observe and learn The Trail Club culture, policies and performance standards.
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of courts and areas adjacent to courts.
- Complete daily assigned tasks such as brush and line tennis courts, pulling weeds, cleaning off net headbands, reapplying clay, rolling courts, etc.
- Operate, maintain and clean all tennis equipment and power tools in proper working condition and in accordance with operating instructions and safety rules.
- Conduct all cleaning activities in the tennis area to meet the Club’s cleanliness standards. This includes cleaning/disinfecting all areas daily including but not limited to water fountains, coolers, trash receptacles and benches.
- Maintain appropriate levels of tennis area amenities at all times; fill water coolers with fresh water and ice and empty trash cans daily.
- Operate an irrigate/court watering system; learn the system and be able to operate the system independently.
- Conduct oneself at all times in a manner of professionalism that aligns with the values and standards of the Club. This includes being in a club-approved uniform.
- Must effectively communicate with applicable supervisor to coordinate, acknowledge, prioritize and document completed work tasks.
- Use maintenance equipment for various jobs; such as pressure washer, spreader, leaf blower, weed whacker, lawn mower, etc.
- Communicate daily with Tennis Professional and Club Manager about court issues and court closures.
- Work with fellow maintenance staff as needed on facilities upkeep such as painting, carpentry work, landscaping, etc.

Required Qualifications, knowledge, skills and curriculum:

- Must be able to work early mornings and weekends.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Motivated self-starter who demonstrates initiative, ownership and attention to detail of work.
- Strong people person who is comfortable working with others.
- Ability to take a “hands-on” approach working both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

- Scheduled days and hours of work may vary as needed based on seasonal influences.
- Regularly required to stand, balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work in the heat and humidity.
- Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Hours Worked:

- 5-6 days per week (Regularly Wednesday – Sunday)
- 7:00am start time each shift
- 32-40 hours per week
- Overtime opportunities based on volume and events

Compensation

- $17.00 - $18.00 per hour based on experience
- Time and a half for any overtime hours worked.
- Uniform Shirts provided.
- Employee meals provided.
