JOB TITLE: Laundry Aide
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services
REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Supervisor / Administrator of Coble Healthcare
HOURS: 6:00am - 2:00pm with alternating weekends
CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt / Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for gathering, labeling, washing, drying, folding and distributing laundry for the Coble Creek Healthcare facility.

Essential Duties:

  • Gather soiled laundry from the nursing care areas and transport to the Laundry area.
  • Wash, dry, and fold all laundry. Return all laundered items to the nursing care areas, ensuring placement in the proper locations.
  • When handling individual resident’s laundry, ensure it is labeled, laundered and returned appropriately.
  • As required, provide services in the Housekeeping area.
  • Report all unusual conditions, behaviors, and/or resident concerns to the appropriate Management/Supervisory staff in a timely manner.
  • Respond and react in a kind, polite, and professional manner with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • May be required to work independently or assist others in the cleaning of other facilities or residences of the organization.
  • This position will adhere to the environmental and infection control standards established by OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.

  • Able to sit, stand, bend, reach and move intermittently during work.
  • Performance of job duties subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Regularly communicate with supervisor and other staff, volunteers, family members and guests.
  • Possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to meet the responsibilities of the job.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., up to 25 pounds.
  • May be required to adjust scheduled time or work beyond normal hours for planned activities/events and emergencies.
  • May be exposed to odors from cleaning/laundry supplies, equipment, and /or waste.

Education and/or Experience:

  • One or more years of laundry experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
