Job Purpose
Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated candidate in the area of HV Architectures System Design and Integration to support the innovation and development of electrified drive systems for its Light Vehicle Drive Systems business unit. This position involves developing complete X-in-1 electrified drive systems, subsystems, and components to improve and expand Dana’s product portfolio with a commitment to improving vehicle safety, performance and energy efficiency. Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead complete drive systems architecture definition and development for Dana's light vehicle platforms.
- Support mechanical and electrical integration into highly compact, power dense electric drive units.
- Develop innovations from (Technology Readiness Level = TRL1 through TRL6
- Active role in drive module engineering design and development
- Lead generation of design specifications and requirements for the system portion of X-in-1 electric drive systems, statements of work and supporting documentation to define system and requests for quotation.
- Position will be responsible for developing all system attribute requirements, including quality, cost, weight, function and timing.
- Define product performance goals.
- Assess system efficiency & architecture options, assist selection of optimum design solution.
- Direct and assist vehicle/powertrain modeling and analysis effort to evaluate the performance of architecture alternatives and system-level tradeoffs.
- Identifying new product opportunities- contribute to potential design solutions.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or related engineering discipline
- Master’s degree preferred
- 7 years technical experience in an automotive product development setting
- Strong overall knowledge of electrified drive subsystems (motor, inverter, gearbox, software)
- Strong understanding of vehicle level attributes/target-setting process (vehicle packaging, performance, efficiency, NVH, etc..)
- Strong experience applying Systems Engineering Fundamentals and adherence to process/principals.
- Knowledge of powertrain transmissions and/or electrified drive subsystems (motor, inverter, gearbox, park mechanisms, pumps/hydraulics, actuators, controls, etc…)
- Experience in system modeling and simulation (Matlab or similar) is a plus.

- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of deliverables and lead resolution of issues
- Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside of Dana in a professional manner
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills with ability to successfully function in and lead cross-functional teams
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally (5-10% typical)
- Position may be based in Novi, MI or Maumee, OH; remote-hybrid with 3 days on site; periodic support in Maumee will be required during prototype build and testing
