Lead Designer - Full Time Position
Lee Douglas Interiors is a full service commercial and residential design firm servicing clients, builders, outside designers and offering a retail storefront to the public, stocking furniture, accessories, and artwork.
POSTION OBJECTIVE:
The Lead Designer will work with an Associate Designer as part of a Design Team. This role will suit a highly skilled, creative, and self-motivated individual who is a team player willing to work on projects from concept to completion. The Design Team will service clients in the store showroom and at home client consultation appointments. The Lead Designer will set and maintain weekly and yearly sales goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Closely Related Field
2+ Years Related Work Experience
Established Client Base
Industry & Sales Experience
Strong Product & Finish Knowledge
Strong Building & Remodel Process Knowledge
Ability to Read and Interpret Construction Drawings
Positive and Professional Attitude
Strong Communication and Organizational Skills
Ability to Multi-task and Meet Deadlines on Multiple Projects Simultaneously
Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit
Ability to Work Independently and as a Team
Customer Service Skills
Math Skills
Valid Drivers’ License
PREFERRED:
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (Required if an Independent Designer)
Merchandising and Product Handling Experience
SPECIAL DEMANDS:
Lee Douglas Interiors Design Teams service clients at home and on construction sites, candidates must be able to travel locally and perform in environments of varying temperature and noise conditions. The Design Team positions require presentation of merchandise and finish materials, candidates must be able to be on their feet and lift and carry merchandise and presentation materials. The Design Team positions require documentation and presentation paperwork, candidates must be able to sit and operate at a computer for extended periods of time. Due to our industry and widespread client base, on occasion, overtime or travel may be required. Design Team positions require Saturday showroom hours in a rotating schedule.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Associate Designer to Coordinate Design Projects through all Phases of Design: Conceptual, Schematic, Development, Construction, and Final Finishing.
Set and Maintain Sales Goals
Obtain New Clientele and Maintain Set Client Base
Space Planning, Renderings, Square Footage & Elevation Calculations, and Preparation of Design Packages
Coordination and Correspondence with Contractors, Furniture Dealers, and Fabricators
Provide Consultation Services and Project Site Visits
Assure Designs Conform to Contractual Agreement with Client
Merchandise the Showroom and Service Walk-in Clientele
Weekly Team Meetings and Monitor Team Calendar
Attend Installation & Delivery Appointments
Attend Industry Events & Special Company Events
Complete duties as assigned by Store Manager
Work together with all departments that create the LDI Team
Support Associate Designer with: Bids on Materials & Labor for Projects, Inspection of Merchandise, Delivery Coordination
Must Timely Report to Work as Scheduled by LDI Management
