As a Family Child Day Care Home, groundbreaking academic research is blended with proven Montessori principles and over a decade of childcare experience to create a unique, challenging, and loving environment for your little ones to grow in the Pittsburgh area!
Who We Are:
Welcome to ABC Home! As a Family Child Day Care Home, groundbreaking academic research is blended with proven Montessori principles and over a decade of childcare experience to create a unique, challenging, and loving environment for your little ones to grow in the Pittsburgh area! We believe there are two tracks for child caregiving: surviving and thriving. Surviving is ensuring the children will live through the day, while thriving ensures each child is developing and growing into their happiest versions of themselves. We aim to create a team that truly supports each child’s ability to thrive, not just survive! Check out our website at www.abchomepgh.com for more information!
Our Philosophy:
ABC Home provides challenging developmental activities for children aged 4 months to 4 years. We utilize the U.S.’s top research facilities in child development and meld scientific research with Montessori principles of independence and age-appropriate skill mastery to create a happy, healthy, balanced environment for children to learn to grow and become the best versions of themselves. Studies have shown the biological development through neurochemicals and brain development is strongest during the youngest years of a human’s life. This age range is critical to allowing individuals the ability to grow and learn how growth should occur. I generally refer to this stage as learning how to “human”. At this young age, children respond to being able to explore their environment in play form without harsh restrictions and forced activities, so our skill mastery philosophy is presented in play so children can understand the world through mimicry and staged toys. We provide a warm, loving environment to ensure children can develop physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally with a healthy outlook and confidence. What we instill in children at this young age positively effects them for the rest of their lives!
