Job Summary
:
Manages, mentors and models best practices to counseling staff within assigned program cluster(s). Recruits new students for Bethel University through identifying, qualifying, and cultivating prospective students to increase the number of students to the university for designated programs.
Responsibilities
:- Manage and lead enrollment counselor team through routine check-ins and monitoring of activity and budget goals. Mentor and coach according to best practices in adult student recruiting; encourage continual improvement and
- leadership development. Train new enrollment counselors. Work with Associate Director in cohort and budget tracking, continual improvement, and development plans for counselors.
- Individualized one-to-one recruitment through relationship development and communication with prospective students in specific programs while meeting or exceeding recruitment activity and budget goals.
- Assist operations staff in implementing and training on new or existing CRM documentation policies and procedures for enrollment counselors.
- Collaborates with management team, colleagues, and internal partners to successfully assist counselors and prospective students during the application process and provide a seamless admission experience.
- Serve as a member of the post-traditional admissions leadership team including representing the admissions office in office, division, and/or strategy meetings.
- Execute on and off campus recruitment events to create awareness and interest in Bethel’s degree programs. Recruitment events include: open houses, information sessions, conferences, partner visits, and college visits.

- Must be able to confidently and clearly report counselor progression within their recruitment cluster
- Must be a proven self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team in a professional and confidential manner.
- Must be detail-oriented and have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple projects and duties well.
- Must show a proven ability to manage details.
- Must be able to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature and professional manner.
- Must have working knowledge of Google Apps (docs, presentations, spreadsheets, calendars, etc.), Microsoft Word and Excel, basic CRM (customer relationship management) system understanding, and an aptitude for workplace technology.
- Must have the ability to work with students of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds assisting them with the admissions process.
Required Experience
:
4+ years of post-baccalaureate work experience and training in higher education, marketing, or sales is preferred.
Required Education
:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's preferred.
Additional Information
:- Must be willing to travel and work non-routine hours as needed during certain times of the year.
- Some weekends and evenings required for recruiting events.
- Must be physically able to carry suitcases and large recruiting displays across large parking lots and up and down flights of stairs.
