POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to Production Management, the Lead Materials Coordinator is responsible for a broad range of duties related to inventory management and the oversight of products and materials to include the coordination, organization, optimization, and transportation of inventory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operates Forklift to transport received materials to the specified location within the facility. Keeping work centers staffed with adequate materials is a primary focus of this position.
• Accurately enters data/scans receipt points to track material movement and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Visually inspects products maintaining quality control practices ensuring concerns are escalated.
• Actively ensures that all safety requirements and procedures are followed at all times.
• Receives and unloads materials from trucks, as needed.
• Partners with Engineering and Operations to optimize storage of materials, set points of use within work cells, maximize potential of work cell layouts, correct receipt issues, and other Material Handler pain points.
• Dump saw dust containers, chip barrels, and other non-production duties that keep other material handlers filling production needs.
• Assists with cycle counts, as needed.
• Trains new Material Handlers to proficiency adapting to different learning styles and approaches.
• Maintains a clean work area.
• Other duties, tasks, and project work as assigned by supervisors.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent, required. 2-4 year degree in Business with a concentration in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, or other related field, preferred.
• 3-5 years of inventory management experience (experience gained through advanced education, also acceptable), required.
• Understanding of the following, required: consumption rates, BOM’s, reconciliations, cycle counting, KANBAN’s, etc.
• Proficiency navigating a tablet/iPad as well as a computer, required. Basic proficiency with Outlook and Excel, also required. Previous ERP/MRP experience, strongly preferred.
• Ability to operate a Forklift (experience operating PIT’s, preferred); ability to pass the Material Handler Certification exam (with training.)
• Previous leadership experience, a plus.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, required.
• Ability to ask questions, understand problems, challenge status quo, and problem solve.
• High level of engagement and attention to detail to anticipate needs and respond with a sense of urgency.
