CTS is looking for a motivated, self-starting Lead Mechanic to add to our team of maintenance professionals. This position is critical to help ensure our core values of getting our drivers home safely.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Technical degree in mechanical or diesel technology is a plus, certification in diesel mechanics is a plus, 3 years’ minimum experience with diesel mechanics and related parts is preferred, or equivalent experience
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
• CDL is helpful but not required
• Experience with TMT or other vehicle maintenance tracking software

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Diverse knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance
• Electronics and brake experience required
• Diagnosing failures of vehicles, disassembling, repairing and reassembling parts as necessary
• Inspecting, testing, and listening to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts and pressure gauges
• Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other vital parts to ensure proper operating condition
• Attaching test instruments to equipment and reading dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions
• Comply with all safety and industry regulations for all work processes
• Strong communication skills and decision-making capabilities

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Engine rebuilding knowledge

· Follow proper process for obtaining and tracking parts

· Demonstrate knowledge through clear written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
