Friendship Village is seeking a FT Over Night Lead Security Officer!
Pay: $19.35-$21.29 DOE
Schedule: 2:00pm-10:30pm Sunday-Thursday

GENERAL SUMMARY: Lead and assist the shift officer with the responsibilities, procedures, and documentation needed and provide training to the shift officer when discrepancies are noted. The Lead Officer will foster a team approach on the shift and within the department. The Lead Officer does not provide corrective action but, instead coaches officers in completing duties. When coaching does not achieve the desired outcome the lead officer identifies deficiencies to the Security Manager. Provides peace of mind to the residents of the Village by being alert for fire, theft, and non-authorized persons entering the Village property. Provide on and off campus transportation and assist residents as required.
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS:

3. Support, cooperate with, and implement specific procedures and programs for:
a. Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
b. Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.
c. Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
d. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
4. Support and participate in common teamwork:
a. Cooperate and work together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
b. Use tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
c. Follow up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
d. Promote positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
e. Complete requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform administrative duties directed by the Security Manager.
- Provides direction, instruction and guidance to officers and tram drivers on shift, for the purpose of achieving the goals of the village as well as those of the security department.
- Relate all new or revised policies, procedures and /or processes to team members to ensure they have the most up‐to‐date and current information.
- Identify practices that are and are not working and makes recommendations to the manager.
- Ensure Village buildings and property are patrolled at all times as outlined in the Security manual and review the patrol tour of each officer on shift.
- Assess the need for training and submit requests to the manager.
- Function as a team member and carry out the duties and responsibilities assigned to the team.
- Serve as a resource and content expert to team members; providing them with guidance and being available to answer questions to clarify the work activities.
- Create opportunities for team members to provide input on procedures/processes and share their expertise with other team members.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information within the department.
- Assist in the issuing and tracking of equipment to security personnel.
- Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Courteous and respectful to those we serve, which includes: employees, visitors and guests.
- Follow safe practices in all areas of work.
- Have comprehensive understanding of security duties and procedures.
- Train newly appointed officers and develop identified areas of strength.
- Department workload and staffing may require working weekends, holidays and/or overtime.
- Able to perform janitorial and light maintenance duties.
- Perform any other duties or assume any other responsibilities as directed by department head or supervisor, or as is necessary to perform this job.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1. At Least 6 months experience working security
2. High School graduate or G.E.D. Diploma preferred.
3. Possess current and valid Arizona Driver’s License with few to no violations in order to be insurable in FVT owned vehicles.
4.Past experience in dealing with the general public, any previous experience in security supervision or team building would be an asset.
5. Requires good judgment in following policy and procedures. Employee should have the ability to perform routine tasks and make independent decisions in changing situations when such action is warranted.
6.Possess basic computer skills. Knowledge of access control/CCTV systems beneficial but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Effectively read, write, and communicate in English and the ability to communicate with Supervisors and Residents both in writing and orally.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Able to compute basic mathematical equations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
Able to walk long distances, stand on feet for long periods of time, and at times may be required to bend, stoop or crouch, and climb ladders.
May be exposed to the elements of weather (heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, fumes), unsanitary conditions and a variety of toxic chemicals.
Reasonable care is required to prevent injury and accidents for others.
Flow of work and type of duties require flexibility and normal mental and visual demand much of the time.
