Resume writer is responsible for creating resumes that highlight the skills, experience, and accomplishments of their clients, and may also be called upon to provide general career advice or guidance on how to best present oneself in an application or interview. Resume writer must have a deep understanding of what employers look for in candidates, what qualities make someone stand out from the crowd, and what makes one resume more appealing than another.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Conduct interviews with clients in person, by phone, Zoom or email to gather information about their work experience, education, skills, and other qualifications to create a targeted resume that best highlights their qualifications
  • Write resumes from scratch using client’s existing resume and information provided during one-on-one meeting.
  • Facilitate resume workshops to provide information to the clients regarding resume best practices.
  • Create a resume with the correct format and content to emphasize on the skills, experience, and achievements of the candidates.
  • Write effective resumes that highlight a candidate’s strengths, skills, and qualifications
  • Identify and use the right type of format for every candidate as a resume must be tailored to the specific needs of each country/industry.
  • Ensure there are no grammatical errors, spelling mistakes or factual errors while writing the resume.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, including answering any questions they may have about the writing process or their resumes.
  • Review job descriptions and other documents provided by employers to ensure the resume is tailored to each position
  • Write cover letters that introduce the applicant and explain why they are qualified for the job in question
  • Provide career counseling to clients about their job search strategies, including how to network effectively and how to apply for positions online

  • Assist customers in multiple phases of the case management process, ranging from enrollment through job placement, job retention, and career advancement services
  • Knowledgeable about job opportunities that match customer’s skill and educational levels
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is goal driven with monthly outcomes
  • Work with customers to provide information on how to access government-sponsored programs and receive program services
  • Interact with program participants on a regular, daily basis either in person or via mail
  • Educate customers on program services and eligibility requirements
  • Work with customers to meet and achieve program goals and maintain program services and eligibility
  • Assist customers with acquiring services that facilitate program goals (e.g., job referrals, job matching, educational and/or vocational training, medical, child care, transportation, substance abuse/mental health, child support establishment, legal, and other related needs)
  • Follow-up with customers to ensure that their needs are met and questions and concerns are resolved
  • Serve in a lead capacity as needed by coordinating and directing the work of lower level staff, mentoring and advising lower level staff, and handling complex or escalated issues

Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Eye for detail and ability to present information in a concise and factual manner.
  • Good typing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience writing and editing resumes and cover letters is preferred but not a must.
  • An understanding of various industries and job functions including entry level, technical, professional, and executive roles.
  • Knowledge of various resume formats and the ability to determine when each is appropriate to a specific individual.
  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.67 - $21.63 per hour
