New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda. Responsible for one of the largest of the 57 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with about 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in our region, screening nearly 50,000 potential donor referrals annually. With approximately $90M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 250 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England.

Job Description


As a member of the Employee Learning and Advancement (ELA) team, the Learning and Performance Lead provides instructional design services for NEDS’ technical and clinical training needs to support the mission, growth, culture and strategic priorities of NEDS. Using the full array of current educational technologies, adult learning principles, and e-learning methodologies the Talent and Performance Lead is responsible for partnering with ELA and Tissue Donation Services (TDS) leaders to analyze, design, develop, implement, document, track, and assess employee coursework. This role will also partner with the Organ Donation Services (ODS) Education & Development Team (E&D) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop online trainings.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with TDS and ODS to design, develop, and oversee training solutions to assure employees are provided with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently perform the functions of their job.
  • Collect and analyze source material provided by department leaders, Quality Systems, SMEs, and other training teams to identify training needs.
  • Design training by collaborating with ELA, ODS, Quality Systems, and TDS department leaders, Qualified Training Personnel (QTP), and SMEs to determine learning objectives, most effective training format, content delivery, and competency measures.
  • Develop training materials, e-learning courses, job aids, and assessments.
  • Support Training Plan administration, documentation, and reporting support for TDS and CS by assisting with the development of learning paths, assigning training, maintaining training plans, tracking completion and running reports as needed.
  • Upload, launch and link e-learning courseware to the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide employees with technical support as needed.
  • Document training activities and associated metadata in LMS for TDS and CS assuring training records are documented accurately and are accessible and compliant with internal and external requirements.

Qualifications


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, technology, interactive media, organizational learning, behavior or development preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a relevant clinical or training role in an Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) highly desired.
  • Experience of successful instructional design, web-based course development, and LMS systems preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Articulate Rise or Storyline, Captivate or other authoring tools preferred.
  • Adult Learning Principles, Task Analysis, and Instructional Design: uses adult learning principles and instructional design strategies to assess needs and then plan, design, develop and implement courses and learning solutions to develop skills, increase engagement, belonging, and improve overall employee performance and organizational effectiveness.
  • Computer & Application Literacy: proficiency Microsoft Office suite, Learning Management Systems, and instructional technologies including Zoom, Articulate 360 or other authoring tools to facilitate interactive learning, e-learning, and webinars. Ability to learn and utilize new technologies.

This position is based out of Waltham, MA, however can work a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote.
