Position Summary
Interviews applicants and examines, evaluates, and authorizes approval of applications for real estate, consumer credit, signature, and commercial loans
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Contacts customers, business, community and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business
- Visits establishments such as real estate brokers, sales agents and local builders to promote mortgage services
- Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans
- Complies and reviews data submitted on credit applications; verifies accuracy of information
- Analyzes applicant financial status for further consideration
- Approves loan, submits to underwriting, or refers loan package to loan committee and recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied
- Informs applicant of acceptance or denial and outlines terms and conditions of the loan; completes necessary documentation
- Cross-sells other bank products and services and increases customer relationships
- Refers bank products and services, including insurance and investment services, to appropriate bank representative
- Complies with specific job related BSA policies and procedures, including but not limited to: obtains proper identification and completes CIP requirements, completes and submits Customer Transaction Reports (CTR), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), and Monetary Cash Sale Forms on time and in accordance with BSA policy, recognizes “red flags” and reports suspicious or unusual requests to the BSA and Security Officers, performs OFAC scans on new customers prior to account opening and non-customers prior to conducting cash transactions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in business, finance or related field’
- And a minimum of two (2) years related experience in a financial institution or consumer loan department and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
