We are looking for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our Excelsior Wellness Center team. Our practice offers an innovative and collaborative approach to mental health services. Excelsior Wellness Center recognizes that mental health counselors are essential for providing quality treatment for our clients. With that in mind we are committed to ensuring that our clinicians are not overburdened with an unreasonably high caseload so that they can focus on providing the highest quality of care to each and every client. We believe that having a manageable caseload allows clinicians to be more effective and efficient in their treatments, while still having time to dedicate to each client.

FREE SUPERVISION HOURS:

At Excelsior Wellness Center, we are committed to helping our Associate Counselors reach their goals and realize their professional dreams. We know that becoming a licensed counselor requires hard work, dedication, and time, and that's why we offer direct supervision toward licensure hours as part of our employment package. Our experienced supervisors will provide you with the guidance and support you need to gain the necessary skills and experience needed to become a licensed counselor.

How to Qualify:

• A Master’s Degree in Counseling
• Licensed and certified through the Washington State Department of Health to provide direct client care as an LMHC, LICSW, or LMFT.
  
• An ability to effectively communicate to a wide range of constituents.
• Great organizational and time management skills.
• Energetic personality. Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make ethical and safe decisions.
• Ability to manage individual stress and perform essential job functions in a safe and professional manner.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Core Responsibilities:

• Maintains clients as an outpatient therapeutic model of intervention lasting 3-6 months.
• Provides crisis stabilization and ongoing weekly or bi-weekly counseling.
• Addresses symptom management, interpersonal processes, psychotherapeutic recreation, self-concept, and social role so individuals function at their highest potential and avoid acute care situations.
• Knows and complies with all applicable contract requirements; insurance requirements and seeks out clarification if needed.
• Ensures services provided are properly documented in accordance with program, agency, and regulatory requirements.Is responsible for the completion of mental health assessments as needed.
• Makes referrals to outside agencies for acute mental health, SUD (substance use disorder), SAY (sexually aggressive youth) and neuropsychological services as needed.
• Communicates regularly with the treatment team and provides team with all pertinent information.
