Position Overview:
The Licensing Manager will hold responsibilities in regard to the development and management of the McCormick portfolio of brand licensees, within license out and in opportunities and partnerships. The role is accountable for delivering annual royalty revenue goals, as a key profit growth stream for the US Consumer Products Division (USCPD); ensure all licensed products meet the level of quality demanded by McCormick. The position is responsible for negotiating these agreements with licensing partners while working closely with legal, marketing, design, product development and regulatory teams, to ensure the full integration of licensed businesses with McCormick’s core businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize current and future portfolio of brand licensees, while meeting or exceeding exceed royalty commitments. Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations. Independently, and with the Sr. Licensing Manager, identify and pursue new licensing categories and create external McCormick brand overview presentations. Support development of strategic business plans for all existing areas of responsibility as well as select new categories. Lead cross promotion, cross merchandising, and 100% Created By: MPS March 22, 2023 Version: 1 cross-selling projects with licensees. Lead process optimization with Legal, Marketing, Regulatory, and external agencies to become more efficient and effective in delivering business goals, including partner compliance. Support development of annual business reviews with each licensee and master the financial forecasting of these businesses.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Business, Public Relations, Communications or related
Strong working knowledge and understanding of license agreements.
Strong ability to build internal and external customer relationships that deliver business results.
Strong analytical and project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects.
Expertise in using data from syndicated databases, market research, business & brand planning, advertising, and financial analysis to solve complex problems in P/L, contract negotiation, and customer relationships.
Independent and strategic thinker with experience presenting comprehensive business analysis on new business opportunities.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills and comfort level presenting to customers and management.
